Finland Society's Intensive Finnish Language Course, July 19-30, 2010

Finland Society (Suomi-Seura ry) will arrange an intensive two-week Finnish language course for descendants of Finnish emigrants who are planning to move to Finland. The foreign spouses of expatriate Finns may also attend the course. Students should be over 18 years of age and preferably under 45 years old.

Knowledge of Finnish is not required. The language of instruction is English.
Consequently, a sufficient knowledge of English is necessary.
Program: Finnish (50 lessons) will be taught in small groups at three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced.
Lectures (in English) give the participants information on various aspects of
finnishness and information about studying opportunities and advice in job hunting in Finland.

Place: Laajasalo Folk High School, which is located in a suburb of Helsinki, about 9 kilometers from the center of Helsinki. There are a good and rapid connections between the Laajasalo Folk High School and the city.

Fee: The course fee is 850 euros, which covers tuition, room (double occupancy) and board, study materials and a live guided tour of Helsinki and an excursion to the artist community of lakeside road Rantatie  in Tuusula.

(Fee without accommodation is 580 euros).

Application deadline is April 1, 2010. (We will accept applications as long as space is available).
